Craig and Jas MCrutchen (?) certify that George Hendrick "received a Gun Shot wound Entering at the Upper Edge of the Right Illi[ ] and passing through the Muscles of the Abdomen and coming out near the Navle, which wound materially injures him in Labour by producing pain in the hip, Back and Loins to Such a degree as to prevent him from Manual Laboour. Also by a Gun Shot wound which Completely Amputated the Small Toe on the Left foot." The surgeons say he "is not only Still disabled in consequence of the Said injury but in Our Opinion is Entitle to Two dollars more than he already receives as a pensioner being disabled to a degree amounting to a Total disability."
