The 1887 history of Kosciusko Co., Ind., says: "In the fall of 1833 he came with his parents to Elkhart County, this state, where he resided ten years. ... Mr. Boggess came to this county (Kosciusko) in 1844 and settled upon his present farm on section 7, Plain Township. He has been an industrious and hard working farmer, and is owner of ninety-two acres of well-improved land. He is a consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal Church at Leesburg, and has served as trustee. He is a liberal contributor to both church and state. He is identified with the Masonic fraternity, and politically is a Democrat."
