Obituary:5 May 1969, Jamestown New Your: Mrs Lucy Clayton Wheelhouse, 82, of 55 Shady Lane died at 5:15 am Sunday (May 4, 1969, at WCA Hospital. She was the widow of John w. Wheelhouse; former city assessor, who died May 1, 1968. She was born in Halifsx, Yorkshire, England, June 4, 1886 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Clayton. She came to the United States in 1902 and had resided in the Jamestown area 67 years.
Mrs. Wheelhouse was a member of the Camp Street United Methodist Church and the Daughter of St. George.
Mr. and Mrs. Wheelhouse were married Oct. 27, 1919, in Jamestown, by Mr. Wheelhouse's father, the Rev. George Wheelhouse.
Surviving are a son, Robert W. Wheelhouse, Jamestown; a daughter Mrs. Lee M. Taylor, Minneapolis, Minn.; four grandchildren, John William Taylor, Robert W. Wheelhouse Jr., Cynthia E. Wheelhouse and Lynn G. Wheelhouse; three sisters, Mrs. Ernest Howarth, Mrs. Evelyn Kelly and Mrs. Clara Anderson and a brother, Percy Clayton all of Los Angeles, California.
Funeral services will be at 1 pm Wednesday at the Henderson-Lincoln Funeral Home. The Rev. Harold Gaiser, of the Camp Street United Medodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
