Marriage
Source: Iowa Marriages, 1809 - 1992 (LDS). A John Thomas certified "that Prelet and Sopphonia were of appropraite age and competency to marry". This researcher received a date of marriage as 30 August 1875 but the origin of that date is unknown. In Prelette's obituary it indicates marriage was in 1869 but the 1870 census shows both Prelette and Sophrona living with their families. The birth dates of their first two children come from census reports.
