Edna was born the daughter of John and Sophia Wild Youngbeck on April 25, 1907 in Minford [sic], North Dakota. She and her five brothers and four sisters were reared on the family farm in Minford [sic].
She was united in marriage to Marvin Laing in 1930 and they made their home near Minneapolis, Minnesota. Edna moved to St. Francis Manor in Grinnell in 2004 to be near her brother, Gerald Youngbeck. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church in Edina, Minnesota.
She is survived by a sister, Gladys Gantz of Colorado; several nieces and nephews; and her friends Richard and Marsha Bachman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin Laing; her brothers, Gerald, Reuben, John, Alonzo and Alex; her sisters, Ella, Hilda and Erna.
