Military: Enlisted in the Navy at Minneapolis, Minn., on 18 January 1918; served at Naval Training Station, Great Lakes, Ill., to 24 June 1918; Receiving Ship, Philadelphia, Pa., to 16 September 1918; USS Dorsey to 11 November 1918. Grades: Apprentice Seaman, 174 days; Seaman 2nd Class, 133 days. Discharged at Minneapolis, Minn., on 1 August 1919, as a Seaman 2nd Class.
