Margaret Lucille Muir Strope
Margaret L. Strope, 94, of The Holmstad, Batavia, Illinois, formerly of Boulder Hill and Big Rock, Illinois, died Thursday, 9 April 2009 at Delnor Community Hospital.
Margaret was born in Aurora, Illinois on 14 February 1915. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Charles and Dora Delilah (McGoon) Muir and sisters; Gladys (Edwin) Lancaster, Grace (Julius) Jones, Gertrude (Frank) Kryszewski, Helen (George) Stoneman, Dorothy (John) Korody and Vera (Ben) Koenig.
She married Lawrence J. Strope 17 June 1935 in Aurora. He died 13 December 1998.
They are survived by three children; son, Lawrence James (JoAnne) Strope of Wheaton, daughters, Dora Sue (James) Meyer of Edgewater, Maryland and Joyce Elaine (Raimond) Graubergs of Somonauk; eight grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2009 from 12 PM until the service hour of 2 PM at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Place, Aurora. Interment will be private at Riverside Cemetery, Montgomery, Illinois.
