Obituary of William R. Freeman (poor reproduced copy from possibly The Walnut Leader, June 24, 1898. Areas with these brackets [ ] are smudged and unreadable. "William R. Freeman. Again we are called to mourn the death of a friend. After a hard struggle for life William R. Freeman passed to rest at the home of his parents in Rock Falls, Monday, Jun 20, 1898. His disease was consumption and to seek relief he went to Colorado a couple of years ago. For a time his condition was greatly improved, but during the last winter he received a back set from which he could not recover. William Ross Freeman was born in Walnut October 31, 1868, and was the son of W.R. and Rhoda J. Freeman. He was married to Miss Jennie Bruns Feb. [ ] 1891, and besides his life companion he leaves two sons to mourn his decease. The remains were brought to [ ] Wednesday and funeral [ ] (was held at [ ]) the Christian church, Rev. [ ] in Rock Falls, officiating. Burial took place in Walnut Cemetery. Mr. Freeman was well and [ ]."
