Grace A. HOLLEY
(8 Jan 1871 - 20 Feb 1911)
Newspaper Obituary. Unknown Source:
"Mrs. Grace Holley Webb was called from earth to her eternal reward Monday morning, Feb. 20, 1911, aged 40 years, 1 month and 12 days.
She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Holley, born at the family homestead in Delhi township, Ingham county, Mich., Jan. 8, 1871. When about three years of age she lost her mother and shortly after the family located in Aurelius township, where she attended school and grew to womanhood. Being reared in a Christian home, she scarcely remembered the beginning of her Christian experience, but at the age of 14 she made public profession of her faith and became a member of the Baptist church of Mason, of which she remained a devoted and consistent member to the day of her death.
On Feb. 10, 1892, she was married to Burton E. Webb, also of Aurelius township, where they settled and have since made their home. Here for 19 years the usual joys and sorrows of home life have been shared together, and through it all the sweet, hopeful and cherry [sic] influence of the deceased has been the constant source of inspiration and happiness.
For several years she has been made more or less conscious of physical infirmities, but they have rarely prevented her from pursuing her usual duties. Even the day preceding her death she was able to be about the house in her usual capacity, with scarcely any premonition of the end so near at hand. But during the evening she began to experience an unusual attack of heart failure, which continued with increasing severity until the early hours of Monday morning, Feb. 20, when her gentle spirit took wings to worlds beyond.
By all who knew her she will be remembered as a loving wife, daughter, sister, and exemplary mother, and a precious and unfailing friend.
Of the immediate family who remain to mourn their loss are the husband, Burton E. Webb, one sone, Lawrence, aged 14, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John T. Holley, now of Lansing, Mich., a brother, Elmer M. Holley, also of Lansing, and Mrs. Orrie Hall of Denver Colorado."
