Edwin Newton BROWN

In the 1870 and 1880 Census he is living with his grandparents Thomas Jefferson and Ann Brown in Ingham County, Michigan. After his parents divorce in 1864 Edwin was raised by his grandparents.
Edwin started at the University of Michigan in 1879. He received his BA degree in 1883 and his Master's degree in 1884. He received a bachelor of law degree in 1887 and a Doctor of philosophy degree in 1902.
Edwin was an educator and an author. He wrote "Treasury of Latin Gems" and other works. He was the superintendent of schools in Jonesville and Allegan, Michigan and Hastings, Nebraska.
Edwin was a professor, living in Holland, Ottawa County, Michigan in the 1910 Census with his wife and daughter and a foster female Meter E. Helan. In the 1920 Census for Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, Michigan he was the superintendent in a factory and Lura was the proprietor of a boarding house. They had a foster daughter Matz (probably same female as in 1910), age 10, from Arizona living with them.
In the 1930 Census, Edwin and Lura were still running the boarding house in Ann Arbor.
In the 1940 Census Edwin and Lura are living in the Methodist and Old Age People Home, Chelsea, Washtenaw County.
