Obituary of Mrs.G. Hollis
Died: In Clyde Cloud County Kan., on the morning of Dec. 20 1890, ofpneumonia. Mrs. Gabrilla Hollis, wife of E.D. Hollis, in 56th year ofher age.
Her maiden name was Merritt She was born in Bradford county, Penn.,April 14, 1834. Her parents moved to Wisconsin, and from there toBureau county Ill., where she was united in marriage to E. D. Hollis,April 1852. In December1882, the family moved to Cloud county Kansas.When 15 years of age she was converted and joined the ProtestantMethodist church, to which she belonged until 1882, when she unitedwith the M. E. Church. She leaves a husband and eight children tomourn her loss. Her funeral sermon was preached by her pastor, Rev.G. H. Woodward from Mark VI:50, to a very large congregation of realmourners. Sister Hollis' life was that of an earnest, humbleChristian, a real worker in the church. She did not choose her placeto work., but as she heard the voice of God asking "who will go forus" her ready response was, "her am I send me." She died in greatpeace trusting in the Redeemer. G. H.
