From the document entitled Descendants of Elder John Strong of North Hampton, Mass., on page 1500 is this summary, "Almira Strong married Joseph
Leppes and they have one child, Mary Eleanor Leppes b. in Huntsburgh,
O., Oct. 1, 1838, who m. June, 1854, William Magoon of Kirtland, O.
(son of Simeon Magoon): a merchant in Nevada, Iowa. No issue."
In 1860 and 1870 William and Mary are in English, Iowa County, Iowa.
In 1900 widowed William and two sons are living in Portlan, Multnomah County, Oregon.
After discovering the John Strong writing above, this writer researched further this William Magoon and found the two census references also above. It is not known where he was in 1850 or 1880. He may have stayed in Ohio when the family went to Illinois or went to Ohio and returned to Illinois for his marriage are possible solutions.
