Individual Details

There is confusion regarding the correct name of this person. In one set of notes made by John Bold she is referred to as "Charlotte Frances". In a later set dated April 1995 he writes : "John Southward Bold was 30, Caroline only 17, so consent to their marriage in Cradock was given by her mother, Elizabeth Ann McDonald, a witness at the ceremony on 12-1-1839." It would seem that John Bold is conflating different source material, for the wedding date given is more likely to be that of Tabitha's parents. Another possibility is suggested is that "Elizabeth Frances" is actually "Elizabeth FRANCIS" where the Francis is a family name.
