J. M. Ricketts, an old settler living south of here in Woodson county passed away Sunday morning after a lingering illness. He was 73 years old and leaves a wife and 6 children to mourn his loss. The children are Mrs. Artie Briles of Yates Center, Mrs. May Cokely of Iola, Mrs. Belle Howell of Calif. Mrs. Pearl Israel of Yates Center, Manford Ricketts of Hutchinson and Desmond of Woodson county and are well known here. They have the sympathy of their many friends in their bereavement.
