Douglass to Crawford
This indenture made this fifth day of June AnnoDom one thousand seven hundred and eighty six between George Douglass and Rebekah Douglass his wife of the County of Lincoln of the one part and Rebekah Crawford of the same county of the other part. Witnessth that the said George Douglass and Rebekah his wife for and in considertion of thesum of one hundred pounds current money of Virginia to them in hand paid the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge hath granted sold alliened endorsed and confirmed and by these presents the said George Douglass and Rebekah his wife for themselves and their heirs do freely and clearly and absolutely grant, sell, alien, endorse and confirm unto the said Rebekah Crawford and unto her heirs and assigns forever a certain tract dividend or parcel of land containing one hundred acres situate lying and being in Lincoln County on the head waters of Sugar Creek and Boons Mill Creek and is bounded as follows to wit: Beginning at a white oak and ash tree and a corner betwixt said Douglass and Crawford, from thence south thirty six degrees West two hundred and thirty one poles with Douglasses line to a sugar tree and two IronWood trees standing in the line of Myers Preemption from thence north fifty four degrees West sixty nine poles to an Elm and two beach trees corner to John Matthews land from thence with said Matthews line North thirty six degrees East two hundred and thirty one poles to two sugar trees corner to said John Matthews land n the line of said Myers preemption and with said line south fifty four degrees east sixty nine poles to the beginning with all woods and under woods water and water courses thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining unto the same with the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, rents, Issues and rights of all and singular the said land and premises before mentioned and of every part and parcel thereof to her the said Rebekah Crawford and to her heirs and assigns forever, to have and to hold the said one hundred acres of land be the same more or less and all and every of its rights, members and appurtenances unto the said Rebekah Crawford and unto her heirs and assigns forever.
And the said George Douglass and Rebekah his wife for themselves and their heirs do freely and clearly give up all right, tithe, interest, claim and demand whatsoever they have in and to the aforesaid land and premises with their rights members and appurtenances unto the said Rebekah Crawford and unto her heirs and assigns forever. And the said George Douglass and Rebekah his wife for themselves and their heirs do and shall and will forever warrant and defend the tithe of the aforesaid one hundred acres of land & premises and will by these presents for defend the same against any person or persons that shall or may hereafter claim the same unto the aforesaid Rebekah Crawford and unto her heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof the said George Douglass and Rebekah Douglass his wife have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year above written.
