Military

In 1942 He was a second lieutenant at The Infantry School, Fort Benning, Georgia, as an instructor. As a captain he was assigned to the XII Corps headquarters at Columbia and Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He served as a major with the XII Corps in the European Theater of operations. From 1945 to 1955 he serve in the US Army Reserve as an instructor with the rank of lieutenant colonel.
