The following points are made in the obituary.
RSR and his brothers kept a pack of harrier hounds and hunted the land around the Tregaron and Llanddewi Brefi area.
RSR was captain of rugby at Llandovery College, Aberystwyth University and Cambridge University.
RSR lived the life of a country squire and enjoyed exhibiting his farm animals at local shows. He was a keen fisherman.
RSR sat on the Tregaron bench of magistrates, the Tregaron Board of Guardians and the Rural District Council.
RSR represented the parish on the County Council, the County Education Committee, the Standing joint Committee and the County Agricultural Committee.
RSR was Chairman of the County Council in 1910-1911.
RSR was County Alderman from 1919 to 1934.
RSR was President of the Llanddewi Brefi Agricultural Society.
RSR attended the Teifi Fishery Board.
RSR was church warden for several periods.
