He is recorded in the census as living next door to his mother Jane who was at Cwmcarfan with her parents. Yr Efail Fach was occupied by the Rees family. However, this might have been an error made in the census return by the enumerator. Tom is noted as being 9 months old and a bastard child which seems to tally with the known facts.Marriage
