Oliver Jackson Jeffries Sr., 89, formerly of Harris St., passed away S u n day October 3, 2010 at Morehead Memorial Hospital. Funeral service wi l l b e held 4 p.m. Tuesday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow a t R o selawn Memorial Gardens. Oliver was born in Rockingham County t o t h e late John Henry and Lillie Belle Murphy Jeffries. He was retired f r o m Fieldcrest Mills as a supervisior and was a member of New King Memo r i al Church, and being a WWII Army veteran. Oliver is survived by h i s s ons; Oliver Jackson Jeffries Jr. and wife Wendy of Ruffin, Ronald G l e nn Jeffries and wife Janice of Eden; daughter; Virginia Ann Carter of E d e n, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to h i s p arents, Oliver is preceded in death by his wife Hazel Carter Jeffri e s , three sisters and eight brothers. Visitation will be held 6-8 p . m .
