EDEN - Hazel Carter Jeffries, 83, of 992 Harris St., passed away early T h u rsday morning, March 20, 2008 at Avante of Reidsville. A funeral s e r vice will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, at Fair Funeral Ho m e C hapel. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Jef f r ies was born May 6, 1924 in Rockingham County, to the late Walter Hen r y a nd Ruby Carter. She was a member of New King Memorial Baptist Churc h . S urviving are her sons, Oliver Jackson Jeffries, Jr. and wife, Wendy o f R u ffin, and Ronald Glenn Jeffries and wife, Janice of Eden; and daugh te r , Virginia Jeffries Carter of Eden; six grandchildren and 13 great-g r a ndchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death b y h e r husband, Oliver Jackson Jeffries, Sr. The family will receive f r i ends Friday evening, 6 - 8 p.m. at Fair Funeral Home and other times a t t h e home of her daughter at 213 Moir Street in Eden.
