His first wife, Susannah, died, a n d h e married Elizabeth Allen. After Selling their property in Smyth C o u nty in 1858, Moses and Elizabeth moved their family by wagon along wi t h t heir livestock to the Blackwater area of Lee County, VA. Henry and A n n A llen, Eizabeth's parents, moved thereabout the same time. 1860 C e n sus - Lee County, VA - Moses Allen age 29, wife Elizabeth E age 22, a n d c hildren, Elen age 3 and William T. age 2.
