11/22/2002 Subject: Hubert Allen -Trying to find information on Hubert A l l en, died in Blackwater in 1974. His mother was Sarah Bledsoe and his f a t her Champ Allen. He Is buried in the Austin Bledsoe Cemetery. He was m y m o thers father (did not acknowledge her). Champ Allen's second wife w as M o llie Lipps, Mollie and Champ had at least two children. My grandmoth er A n nie Mae Lipps was the first child of Mollie Lipps, father unknown. M o l lie married Champ Allen who had two or three children already with El i z abeth, Annie Mae was about 2 years younger than Hubert. Mollie and Ch a m p also had children. I would love to find any info on Hubert, his lif e , a nd any of his brothers and sisters and decendants. I was in Blackw a te r last May and I found the Cemetery where Hubert is buried. I don't know who her father is , b u t I don't think it was Champ Allen. Annie Mae is listed in the 1920 c e n sus with her grandmother Margaret Anna Elizabeth (Bare) Lipps, also m y m o ther is listed, Margaret Gertrude age 5/12. Annie married Charles C ol l ins in 1926 and had three children, Roy, Bessie, and Helen. Sometine l a t er she married Amon Chester. They were in Pound, VA. I think Hubert s t a yed in Blackwater. My brother (Half), Howard Keith, worked for a news p a per in the early 70's and actually found Hubert. Hubert would not adm i t o r deny that he was our mothers father. He said to my brother " ain' t s a yn it's true, ain't sayn it ain't". The Austin Bledsoe Cemetery is o n l y a couple of miles from where my brother found Hubert.
