The legend is that Malinda was the daughter of Abraham Compton II and o t h ers say she is the daughter of Abraham Compton I, but this cannot be t r u e since he died in 1779. I believe she was the granddaughter of Abra h a m Compton I, and daughter of Lindy Compton and Henry Phillips. I don' t h a v e proof of this but for the purpose of this report, and because facts s e e m to support it, I am listing her as the daughter of Henry and Lindy ( C o mpton) Phillips. -- MERGED NOTE ------------ The legend is that Malinda was the daughter of Abraham Compton II and o t h ers say she is the daughter of Abraham Compton I, but this cannot be t r u e since he died in 1779.
