NOTE:
Joined at age 19 into Company K, 46th Virginia Infantry of the Confederate Army under Captain George Pannill, in Culpeper County, Virginia July 1, 1861. Service expired Oct. 1, 1961. On Nov. 9, 1861 enlisted in the 6th Virginia Cavalry, Company I, Orange Rangers under Captain Browning. On Jun. 13, 1863 transferred to the 9th Virginia Cavalry Company E. Absent sick July-August 1863. Absent wounded January-June 1864 (possibly at Haw's Shop, Virginia). At final roll Oct 1, 1864. Tobacco dealer in Kentucky postwar. Resided there in 1915.
