Individual Details

Major Tyler

(14 Oct 1754 - 17 Aug 1833)

Birth: Oct. 14, 1754
Connecticut, USA
Death: Aug. 17, 1833
Columbia County
New York, USA

Major Tyler has pension #W20102 (widow: Hannah) found in the National Archives. In that pension is a Bible page that records Hannah & Major's first 13 children. For some reason the last child Phoebe was not included. It is possible that her name was lost due to the extreme deterioration of the Bible page edges. Personal inspection of the actual Bible page at the National Archives in Washington DC in 1992 verified that there was partial writing below the last legible entry (James) which was most likely Phebe's name & birthdate.
I believe that Phoebe is buried near her parents and have listed her at #61276155. Major Tyler is Daughters of the American Revolution ancestor #A117683

The pension record for Major Tyler can be found at fold3.com (formerly footnote.com). The Bible page is reproduced on page 13 of the file. It is very difficult to read but has been transcribed on p.27.

Daughter Alzada Tyler Huson is findagrave #12137518
