Christopher Todd Christopher Todd was born in 1617. He died in 1686. Christopher Todd emigrated from Yorkshire, England in June 1637, on the "Hector" with the company of Eaton and Davenport. Most of the company remained in Boston or vicinity during the following winter. In March, they went to New Haven. Christopher became the owner of a grist mill. After 1798, it passed into possession of Eli Whitney who erected on the site the first establishment in America for manufacturing firearms.
