The following obit appeared on USobituaries.com:"Sophie G. Wilson of Greenville, S.C., formerly of Atlanta, San Francisco and Chicago, died peacefully at the age of 78, at Greenville Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, July 26, 2000. She was the devoted wife of the late Col. Simeon Wilson, loving mother of Rabbi Marc (Linda) Wilson, and adoring grandmother of Dr. Chanie (Scott) Steinberg, Joseph (Jessica) Wilson, Benjamin Wilson, Heather (Phillip) Weinstein and Geoffrey Binnick. She was preceded in death by her parents, Abe and Anna Goldsmith; and her siblings, Minnie and Joseph Goldsmith. Funeral services will be conducted today, July 28, 2000, at 10 a.m. at Congregational Beth Israel, 425 Summit Drive, Greenville. Burial will be held in Atlanta, Ga., Crestlawn Cemetery, Beth Jacob section, today at 2:30 p.m. Shiva will be observed at 11 Harbor Oaks Drive from Saturday evening through Thursday morning, with services at 1 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on each of those days. In lieu of flowers, please direct contributions to Beth Israel Religious School Fund, 425 Summit Drive, Greenville, SC 29609 The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive."
