The following obit appeared in the March 18, 2012, Chicago Tribune:"Shirley Freundlich, nee Grodsky, 87, passed away peacefully, in her sleep, Saturday, March 10, 2012. She was active with IVI-IPO, worked as a medical technician and loved the arts and to travel. Husband Martin died in 1957; brother, David Grodsky, in 2000. Shirley was a proud and noble spirit and an awful lot of fun. Funeral service will be at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 W. Cermak Rd., Forest Park, IL and interment at Silverman and Weiss/Waldheim Cemetery. For information call Weinstein Funeral Home, 847-256-5700. In lieu of flowers, send donations to Insulin for Life USA, Greater Chicago Food Depository or Doctors without Borders."
