Schnell, 72, loving husband of Carolyn, nee Heckman, for 46 years; devoted father of Tracy (Robert) Tervin and Barry (Donika) Schnell; loving grandfather of Grace and Bobby Tervin, Charles, Katarina, and Victoria Schnell; dear brother of Richard (Dee) Schnell and Barbara (Roy) Hugi. Raymond was a lifelong member of Tinley Park Community Church, formerly Stewart Ridge Congregational Church, a 50-year member of the Eiche Turnverein in Tinley Park, and longtime member of the Builders Tee Club. Formerly of Roseland and Tinley Park, Raymond served in the U.S. Navy and worked for many years at the Chicago Tribune and for the Illinois Secretary of State. He served as Editor and Publisher of The Suburban Reporter. His humor, kindness and loyalty will be missed by his family and legions of friends. He truly was one of a kind. A Memorial service is being planned."
