One of them was a Samuel Hodes who is not yet connected to the family (not the Simon aka Samuel Hodes who is Goldie's father). Benjamin was employed as a salesman for a merchant. The following death notice appeared in the Chicago Tribune on April 21, 1965:"Goldie Trace. nee Hodes, of 1524 Birchwood Avenue, beloved wife of Ben; loving mother of Doris Horwitz and Dr. Lester, six grandchildren: fond sister of Belle Miller, Florence Hofman, Albert, and the late Roy G. Hodes. Services Wednesday, 1 p. m. at chapel. 1300 Devon avenue. Interment Westlawn cemetery. Member of Gertrude Hodes Children's aid: Star auxiliary of
Marks Nathan hall; North Shore chapters B'nai B'rith.and Cong. B'nai Zion.

The following obit appeared in the Chicago Tribune on April 21, 1965:
"Mrs. Ben Trace
Mrs. Goldie Trace, 67, died Monday in her home at 1524 Birchwood av. She was the wife of Ben Trace, a clothier. Other survivors are a son, Lester, and a daughter, Mrs. Doris Horwitz. Services will be held at 1 p. m. Wednesday
in the chapel at 1300 Devon ave"
