The following obit appeared in the March 4, 2010 New Orleans Times-Picayune:" Betty Goodman Gurney, age 83, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Beloved wife of Martin for 65 years, devoted mother of Brian Gurney, Stacey Gurney Mequet, and Keith Gurney, spouses and partner, loving grandmother of Robin Mequet Albert, Rachel Mequet Miller, Daniel Mequet, Rebecca Mequet, Michael and Jonathan Gurney, Charlotte Gurney, great-grandmother of five. Cherished by everyone she met, Mrs. Gurney retired as a registered nurse from the Cleveland Clinic after 20 years of faithful service. She will be greatly missed by all. Private family service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Betty's honor to the ALS Association, Northern Ohio Chapter, or Hospice of the Western Reserve"
