His last permanent residence was Slusk, Poland and his closest relative left behind was his uncle Aron Lukin. He had $25 and did not have a train ticket to his destination which was his bother Lore Lukin in Cleveland. He was 5 feet 1 inch tall with fair hair and brown eyes. In 1972 Pearl Teitelbaum Lukin told Mark Teitelbaum: "Max Fader, was a carpenter and worked with Pearl's husband, Joseph Lukin; the Lukins were married in 1924. During the Depression Joseph Lukin., unable to build homes, began to rent juke boxes, vending machines, and coin operated games to amusement parks. When he found he was making a decent living from this sideline he retired as a carpenter and expanded the business. Max Fader, about this time injured his back in a fall from a house under construction. He joined his brother in law in the business which became known as J & L Music. Later the elder Benjamin Teitelbaum and Sol Teitelbaum began to work for them."Census (family)
