His SSDI reports his birth as February 15, 1903. The Ohio Death Index reports February 16, 1903. His naturalization papers state January 17, 1903.Immigration
The Certificate of Arrival which is attached to Max Fader's naturalization file is for a Benjamin Schlagel; his arrival data is the same as Max Fader's. The conclusion is that Max Fader immigrated under the name of Benjamin Schlagel arriving in New York City on January 21, 1921 aboard the SS Mongolia. He listed his brother, Herman Fader, in Cleveland as his destination.Immigration Detention

The following are the recollections (1972) of Pearl Teitelbaum Lukin as told to Mark Teitelbaum:"Max Fader, was a carpenter and worked with Pearl's husband, Joseph Lukin; the Lukins were married in 1924. During the Depression Joseph Lukin., unable to build homes, began to rent juke boxes, vending machines, and coin operated games to amusement parks. When he found he was making a decent living from this sideline he retired as a carpenter and expanded the business. Max Fader, about this time, injured his back in a fall from a house under construction. He joined his brother in law in the business which became known as J & L Music. Later the elder Benjamin Teitelbaum and Sol Teitelbaum began to work for them."

A former long-time resident of Cleveland, Max Fader died at the age of 83 on June 4 at the Heritage Manor in Youngstown where head been living since 1983. Mr. Fader was born in Poland and came to Cleveland in the early 1920's. He owned and operated a vending machine company for about 35 years before retiring. He was a member of Park Synagogue, its Men's Club and B'nai B'rith. Mr. Fader and his wife, the former Rose Teitelbaum, were married 62 years. Other survivors include his sons, Dr. Alfred of Cleveland and Dr. Melvin of Youngstown: seven grandchildren, a great-grandchild and a sister. Contributions may be made to the Max Fader Memorial Fund at Suburban Community Hospital."
