motor is Chicago Checker Taxicab No. 4772 powered by one of these remarkable engines and driven by Aaron Mehr of that city. Mr Mehr purchased a WiIlys-Knight chassis on Aug. 1, 1922, mounted a taxicab body on it, and started service at once. Since that day he has averaged, according to his own affidavit, 200 miles a day, seven days a week. Since the day this car began service it has been driven considerably in excess of 100.000 miles, sustaining the abuse that only a busy taxicab receives. "In spite of the extraordinary wear to which this cab has been subjected" writes Mr. Mehr "the engine has required no repair of any kind. Nothing has ever been done to the engine in the way of overhauling or repairing. The sleeve-valves, the piston rings, the wrist pins, timing chain are today just as they were when the car left the factory. Yet the engine runs efficiently and economically."
