In Volume 14 of Sibley's Harvard graduates, pp 175-176Rev. Nathan Holt was a 1757 graduate of Harvard College. Sibley in his biography reports that Nathan's father Nicholas would not or could not provide for his education, and when Nathan reached adulthood he disposed of his inherited property so he could obtain an education. When he entered Harvard, he was nine years older than his next oldest classmate. He first preached in Lyndeborough but received a call to preach at South Parish of Danvers on 14 August 1758. He successfully held his position as pastor until his death is 1792.
