Individual Details
Nicholas Frost
(1595 - 16 Apr 1662)
Information from the Great Migration Begins.
Nicholas Frost apparently had difficulty functioning in society. He came to Damariscove, an island off the coast of what is now Maine, in 1632. He was banished from there 2 October 1632 after being convicted of theft from Indians, drunkenness, and fornication. His sentence was a fine, severe whipping, branding on the hand, and banished out of the patent. If he ever returned, he would be put to death. He was also to be kept in bolts until his fine was paid. Again, in 1651 he was indicted for conspiring with others to steal from Mr. Shapleigh. He was just after back in Court for "saying he hoped to live so long as to wet his bullies in the blood of the Saints."
