Joseph Crosby son of Simon Crosby Jr, was born in Billerica 5 July 1669 in his parents log cabin. He was a farmer and tailor. He married 6 May 1691 in Billerica, Sarah Frenche daughter of Lt William and Mary (Lathrop) Frenche. She was born in Billerica 21 Oct 1671. Sarah’s father died when she was 10 years old. She inherited several pieces of property worth over 40 pounds and containing about 70 acres combined. She and her two sisters could not read or write. Joseph and Sarah had 12 children.
