Isaac Carlton did not leave a will and his estate entered probate 2 July 1816 with Benjamin Boynton (brother of Mary) as administrator at the request of widow Mary. On 3 August 1816, widow Mary was allowed the value of one hundred and fifty dollars from the personal estate. Benjamin Boynton petitioned to sell other of the personal estate at public auction to settle the debts of the estate.1

On 25 August 1817, Conrad Carlton a minor above the age of 14 years made choice of his mother Mary Carlton as his guardian.1
