In her will written 16 July 1811, Lois Phelps bequeathed one dollar to all the children of deceased son Joshua to be equally divided among them. The remainder of the estate is equally divided between daughters Loes Blunt wife of Captain Isaac Blunt and Hannah Abbot wife of Lieutenant Nathan Abbot. Henry Phelps is named executor. At the time of Lois's death 25 years after she wrote the will, Henry Phelps felt no longer able to fulfill the functions of executor and asked to be excused.
