On 26 March 1806, James Hall of Springfield, inconsideration of $800, conveyed to David Hall of Springfield a 54-acre tract which was part of lot twenty-nine of the fifth division. On the same date,David Hall conveyed the property to James Hall for $800, this is the form of a mortgage agreement in which David agrees to provide support for James and his wife Sarah during their natural lives and to pay two promissory notes owed to James.[1]
