Willhttps://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/8996/images/007131914_00375?pId=767423 In his will written 7October 1826 (proved 12 January 1830), John Goddard, Esq. of Portsmouthbequeathed to affectionate and beloved wife Ann the furniture she brought withher and has since been given to her by her mother and other friends. In lieu ofdower, she is to receive four hundred dollars annually and use of the dwellinghouse. If Ann elects the right of dower, she will not receive the annualpayments. The following bequests were made to his children and grandchildren:son John Heath Goddard, three thousand dollars; son Samuel Goddard, threethousand dollars; the children of son John Heath Goddard, four thousand dollars;children of son Henry Goddard, four thousand dollars; children of son SamuelGoddard, four thousand dollars; daughter Lucy Maria wife of John KnightPickering, three thousand five hundred dollars (to be held in trust); sonWilliam Goddard, four thousand five hundred dollars; son Charles Goddard, fourthousand five hundred dollars; son Warren Goddard, four thousand two hundreddollars; daughter Ann White Goddard, five thousand five hundred dollars; andson Richard Langdon Goddard, six thousand dollars. Lucy Maria, William,Charles, Warren, Ann White, and Richard Langdon also receive in equal shares a rightof property in Chatham, Coos County known as the Langdon location which is heldin common with Mrs. Elizabeth Sewall and is in the right of their mother.
