In his will, John Brown makes bequests to his daughter Elizabeth Hazelten, daughter Hannah Parker, daughter Martha Farington, daughter Mary Brown, and son Nathaniel Brown. He gives son John Browne "five shillings and no more and the reason why is because he is a stubborn, dissobedent and a rebellious son to me." He also mentions son-in-law John Parker. His widow Sarah is mentioned in another part of the probate record.
