Will
In his will written 9 October 1752 (probate 17 Apr 1758), Joseph Ingalls bequeathed to beloved wife Phebe a lower room in the house while she lives his widow. Annual provisions to be provided by the executor are detailed. Son Joseph Ingalls receives six shillings as he has already received a large portion of the estate. Daughter Phebe wife of Joshua Abbot receives six shillings which completes her full portion. The lands he still has will be divided equally between sons Joshua and Stephen except for two acres that he purchased from his beloved mother Abigail Ingalls which son Stephen shall have over and above his share. Daughter Tabitha receives £42 and may remain in the dwelling house while she is unmarried. John Farnum, Jr. and son Joshua Ingalls were named executors, although John Farnum, Jr. declined this responsibility at probate. Real estate was valued at £476.9.4 On 1 July 1758, widow Phebe Ingalls signed that she accepted what was given her in the will as her full portion of the estate.
