Asa Abbott was born in Lincoln, Middlesex, Massachusetts 21 February 1768 and married there in 1793, Hephzibah Brooks, of Lincoln, at which time he lived in Cambridge. He afterwards located in Sidney, Kennebec, Maine, probably about 1798, but finally settled in Farmington, Franklin, Maine where both he and his wife died. He was selectman in Sidney, 1814-1815.
