Barzillai served a total of 24 months during theRevolution first enlisting from Plainfield, Connecticut in April 1775 in theregiment of Col. Israel Putnam. He enlisted for eight months in May 1775 in thecompany of Capt. Waterman Clift. He was drummer during two enlistments in 1776,three months in the company of Capt. David Cady beginning January 1776 and inthe company of Capt. John Dixon beginning May 1776. He was enlisted as aprivate for three months in May 1777 in the company of Capt. Abraham Waterman.In 1780 or 1781, he enlisted in the New Hampshire militia from Plainfield, NewHampshire as Orderly Sergeant. He was at the Battle of White Plains.
