Will
The will of Joseph Sherman was written 3 February 1779 and proved in 1787. It includes bequests to son Edward Sharman, "son and daughter" Abraham and Marthy Jenkinson, grandson Joseph Sharman, daughters Mary and Susannah Sharman, daughters Lucy and Sarah Sharman. He specifically notes that he has five daughters.Edward Sherman presented the will for probate on 12 March, 1788.
A probate paper requesting a new administrator to the estate signed 11 March 1788 is signed by the following persons: Abraham Jenkens, Zebadiah Farrar, Mary Sherman, Sarah Sherman, Lois Sherman, and Susannah Sherman. And the new executor (name looks to be Matthias Mossman) is named.
