Probate
John Abbot did not leave a will and John Rolfe ofRumford was named administrator of the estate on 28 May 1833 at the request ofRuth Abbot and John Abbot. Francis Cushman and Enoch Adams were sureties forthe bond. The home farm on the west side of the Ellis River was valued at$1,100 and personal estate was $753.34. The debts of the estate exceeded itsvalue. Widow Ruth Abbot was allowed $300 in value from the personal estate. Alicense was given to sell the estate to settle the debts.
