Identity
Although not certain, it is possible that Margaret is Margaret Delano, b. at Tolland in 1733 daughter of Jabez and Prudence (Hibbard) Delano. Jabez Delano died in 1752 prior to the marriage of his daughters so his will does not reference married names. Margaret Delano is of the right age and the use of the name Jabez for the second son of Margaret and John Chamberlain fits with this identification. This would also fit with the kinship network in this portion of the tree as there are several Delanos specifically related to Jonathan and Amy (Hatch) Delano marrying into this Chamberlain section. Margaret Delano is the granddaughter of Jonathan and Amy (Hatch) Delano. John Chamberlain's third wife, Lydia Lathrop, was the widow of Timothy Delano who was son of Jonathan and Amy (Hatch) Delano.Endnotes
