Probate
In his will written 4 October 1761 (filed 1 September 1863), Ezra Hall bequeathed to son Gardner E. Hall all the home farm in Walpole on condition that Gardner pay into the estate $3,000 to be used for the other legacies. Gardner also received the stock of cattle, horses, swine, sheep and all the farming tools. Son Oren receives the other farm in Walpole, that being the farm previously owned by Ezra’s father. Son Armstrong receives $1,000. Daughter Almira Batchelder receives $200 and granddaughter Frances Batchelder receives$700. Son Gardner also receives $1,000 to be held in trust for the use and benefit of son Martin Hall. All the household furniture is to be equally divided among the children. The remainder of the estate, after the erection of appropriate gravestone for Ezra’s grave, goes to Gardner who is also named executor.[1][1] New Hampshire Wills and Probate Records, Cheshire County, Estate Files, Estate of Ezra Hall, Case 309
