Military
John Stevens served as clerk in the company ofCapt. Uriah Stevens, regiment of Col. Ebenezer Marsh that marched for therelief of Fort Henry in 1757.[1] Capt. John Stevens servedfrom Canaan in the Revolution as a member of the part that marched fromConnecticut to capture Fort Ticonderoga in April-May 1775. He was commander atFort George on 6 June 1775. He was raised to the rank of Captain on 19 January1776 in Col. Burrall’s regiment.
